Our April 9th, SRING FLING theme was "Not Just Fashion"

Held at Der Dutchman, about 60 members attended. Festivities kicked off with a welcome and stunning fashion show put on by our members-  from pillows and scarves to complete outfits including an "Uncle Sam" outfit made by Betty Matthews and modeled by her husband.

The buffet was fabulous with Der Dutchman's fried chicken a favorite. For dessert we were served an assortment of pies. The winner of the 50/50 was Connie Peterson and she also won the "Pamper Me" basket, Carol Hutter won the Spring Basket, Cindi Edwards won the "Take a Break" basket, Marie Putnam won the "Fabrics, Sun & Sew" basket and Donna Verstrate won the "Chocolate" basket. Paulette then announced the winners of the silent auction. Good food, good friends, good fun.

On April 22-25 the Titusville Chapter hosted our Florida ASG Sew Together in Cocoa Beach. This retreat was established to create new sewing friendships in the state of Florida. It offered an opportunity to get together and sew with friends. Cost was $75 for classes, lunch coffee and tea. Rooms were $90 at the Holiday Inn Express Convention Center in Tucker Cocoa, FL.

July 7-11 was our ASG National Conference in Indianapolis at the Marriott Downtown (314 West Maryland, Indianapolis, IN 46225). Is there a better way to come back from a Successful Conference in Indiana and then spend a long weekend learning from talented  ASG Educators?

Aug 1-6 was our Chapter's Summer Sewing Retreat at the Kenilworth Lodge (1610 Lakeview Dr) in Sebring FL. Kathleen Heinicke coordinated. Granny Sue set up her Quilt Store.

Aug 27th was our Chapter Community Service Sewing Project for the Rare Bears Project. We brought our machines and cut out patterns, selected fabric, sewed and pressed the finished bears. We had a number of visitors stop in to help.

September was International/National Sewing Month. All of our Neighborhood Groups brought their love of sewing into their communities.

On Nov 5th  Sarasota Gulf Coast Chapter held its Annual Meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn.  Ticket cost was $40. We had a business meeting (office, chair & committee reports), lunch (choice of chicken breast or vegetarian primavera), and then a presentation given by Stephanie Kimura. She showed us  garments and accessories that she had designed and made. Her stories, related to sewing and living, kept us laughing.  We enjoyed a lovely afternoon.

December was filled by Neighborhood Groups celebrating with holiday parties.
